Reference Governance
Corrections and Source Improvements
Historical reference work improves when errors are easy to report and source improvements are easy to triage.
What to report
Useful reports include incorrect dates, unclear wording, missing context, broken links, weak sources, missing primary sources, and pages that need a stronger explanation of historical significance.
What to include
Please include the page URL, the specific sentence or claim, the suggested correction, and any source that supports the change. For source suggestions, include the title, publisher, URL, and why the source is relevant.
How reports are handled
Corrections should be checked against the source policy before a page is updated. Where a report identifies a larger uncertainty, the page can be marked source check needed or needs review while the issue is investigated.
