Dorian Rutherford created a butch pride flag in 2016 as one of several community designs for butch identity and gender expression. The flag is a seven-stripe gradient from blue through white to purple; historian Caroline Radesky reads its cool, traditionally masculine-coded tones as a response to the pink lesbian flag's perceived focus on femme lesbians.
