UK Black Pride was launched to provide a dedicated safe space for LGBTQA+ people of colour, who often faced marginalisation within both mainstream Pride events and their own ethnic communities. The event grew to become Europe's largest celebration for LGBTQ+ people of African, Asian, Caribbean, Latin American, and Middle Eastern descent.
