First International Asexuality Day Observed

The inaugural International Asexuality Day took place, organised by a committee from 22 countries. Co-founded by activist Yasmin Benoit, the four themes were advocacy, celebration, education, and solidarity, with particular focus on ace experiences outside the Western, Anglophone world. The date complements Ace Week in October.

Impact & Significance

Created a dedicated global day of visibility for asexual people, extending awareness beyond English-speaking communities.
