Story and Usage Notes

Nonbinary individuals do not identify exclusively as male or female. This broad category encompasses a variety of gender identities that fall outside the binary framework. Nonbinary people may identify with aspects of both genders, neither, or different genders altogether. The nonbinary identity challenges traditional notions of gender and emphasies the spectrum of gender experiences. Nonbinary individuals may express their gender in diverse ways and often advocate for recognition and respect for their identities. Inclusivity and understanding are key in supporting nonbinary people.
