London Lesbian and Gay Switchboard Established

Founded in 1974, the London Lesbian and Gay Switchboard provided a vital telephone helpline offering information, support and referrals for the lesbian and gay community at a time when few safe resources existed. It became one of the longest-running LGBT helplines in the world.
