Cass Review Final Report Published
Dr Hilary Cass published the final report of her independent review of gender identity services for children and young people in England. The 388-page report found that the evidence base for treating gender-questioning children was remarkably weak, recommended a fundamentally different model of care, and called for the establishment of regional centres with a holistic, multi-disciplinary approach.
Impact & Significance
Reshaped the landscape of trans youth healthcare in the UK and influenced international debate, with some countries adopting similar cautious approaches while trans rights organisations contested key findings and methodology.
