NHS England Bans Puberty Blockers for Under-18s

NHS England announced that puberty-suppressing hormones would no longer be routinely prescribed to children and young people with gender dysphoria outside of clinical research settings. The decision followed recommendations from the interim Cass Review and was subsequently reinforced by emergency legislation in May 2024 extending the ban to private prescriptions.
