Joanne Lockwood, born in January 1965, courageously transitioned to female in 2017 after decades of living disconnected from her true identity. A former Royal Air Force service member who had built a successful IT business generating £3 million turnover with 25 employees, Joanne pivoted her career entirely to become one of the UK's leading voices on transgender inclusion and belonging. She founded SEE Change Happen, a Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging practice specialising in transgender awareness and organisational support. Joanne went on to become the first openly transgender National President of Round Table, a major UK philanthropic organisation. She is a Fellow of the Professional Speaking Association UK&I and a Fellow of the Institute of Equality and Diversity Professionals. Featured in the Channel 4/RDF documentary 'The Making of Me,' Joanne hosts the acclaimed 'Inclusion Bites' podcast and created The Trans Inclusion Toolkit — a practical resource for organisations building trans-inclusive cultures.
