Spain Bans Conversion Therapy as Part of Landmark Trans Rights Law
Spain's Congress passed Ley 4/2023, which among broader LGBTQIA+ protections bans conversion therapy in any form intended to change a person's sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression, with penalties of six months to two years' imprisonment. Several Spanish autonomous communities had already enacted regional bans.
